Due to the development of three wildfires in (1) areas west of Hwy 6 near Golden, (2) the Soda Creek Subdivision in Evergreen, and (3) the Elk Creek/ Conifer & Spring Creek area, Jefferson County Commissioners officially declared the county a disaster area on Monday, March 21, 2011.

Conditions have been aggravated by high winds, so the direction and speed of the fire progress may change suddenly.  Please remain aware of current weather and road conditions for your local area as often as you are able.  Fire hazard conditions impacting travel areas for current assignments will be posted as soon as possible in addition to direct calls to affected mobile professionals from the SNS office.
